Guess the Time

Watch a hidden duration play out on screen. Then enter your guess in seconds. The game shows how close you were.

MULTI-ROUNDWATCH & GUESSSOLO

Watch for the START signal, observe silently, then when the STOP signal appears — guess how many seconds passed. No timers, no tricks — just your internal sense of time.

Durations range from 3 to 12 seconds. Can you guess within a fraction of a second?

How to Play

  1. 1Wait for START. A green screen with "START" signals the beginning. Do not look away.
  2. 2Observe silently. No counting, no tapping — just watch carefully and feel the passage of time.
  3. 3STOP appears. An orange-red screen signals the end. Enter your guess in seconds (e.g. 7.5 or 7.500).
  4. 4See your result. We reveal the actual elapsed time and your accuracy. Try to beat your best!

How Accuracy Works

Accuracy = max(0, 100 × (1 − |error| ÷ actual time)). If 5.000 seconds passed and you guessed 5.000, you score 100.000%. A guess of 4.500 on a 5.000 interval yields 90.000%.

Direction matters: TOO SHORT means you underestimated, TOO LONG means you overestimated, and EXACT is a perfect hit.

Guess the Time FAQ

How does Guess the Time work?expand_more
You watch for a green START signal, then observe silently. When the red STOP signal appears, you enter your guess of how many seconds passed. Your accuracy is measured against the actual elapsed time.
How is accuracy calculated?expand_more
Accuracy = max(0, 100 × (1 − |error| ÷ actual)). If 5.000 seconds passed and you guessed 5.000, you score 100.000% (PERFECT). A guess of 4.500 on a 5.000 interval yields 90.000% accuracy.
What counts as an invalid round?expand_more
If the browser tab loses focus, is minimised, or the page becomes hidden during the observation phase, the round is marked invalid and does not count. In Five-Round Challenge mode, you simply retry that round.
Can I play with friends?expand_more
Yes! After a round or challenge, tap "Play With Friends" to go to the local multiplayer mode where each player guesses on the same interval.
Why is there no countdown timer shown during observation?expand_more
The entire point is to test your internal sense of time. Showing a timer would defeat the purpose — you must rely on your own perception.

How This Mode Works

A hidden duration plays out on screen — you watch without knowing how many seconds pass. When it ends, you enter your guess in seconds. The game reveals the actual duration and shows how close you were. This tests your ability to perceive and remember durations, not to count them.

What Appears in Your Score

Actual duration, your guess, absolute error, direction (too short / too long), and accuracy percentage.
